My first activity is based on the video, Child as Teacher. I created an activity where children became teachers and were able to teach and share their personal stories, viewpoints, traditions and cultures. The children will have the opportunity to express their knowledge and share who they really are. The rest of the children will listen carefully with respect while the child shares their story. This activity allows the children to learn to accept diversity and respect those differences. Learning that we all come from different places, but yet, are still the same people, children would realize that everyone is special and unique just like themselves. Interacting and engaging with one another during the activity will provide opportunities for the children to develop their relationships with one another. Moreover, I also think that by sharing something special about themselves, children are able to gain a sense of pride in who they are.

My second learning plan is based on the video, Evan April 2009 Wheels. I created a science activity where the children have the opportunity to explore the relationship between the ramp and the materials inside and outside of the classroom. I created an activity where the children would investigate the objects that would and would not roll down the ramp. Through this experience, the children would learn about the difference between the materials and would have the chance to compare the results to their predictions. Then they would be able to critically think of the results through the experience they gain. It is an activity that gives the children a chance to observe, investigate, discover and conclude on their own.
The resources and materials needed for this activity are ramps and other objects in the classroom. These objects can be cars, balls, blocks, wooden triangles, tape, erasers, and etc. Anything that is in the classroom or even outside the classroom such as stones, leaves and branches can be used in the activity.

Learning Plan 3

My third learning plan is based on the video, The Meaning and Function of Writing. I created a writing activity that helps children learn how to write and understand the meaning of writing in an interesting way. The children will copy down the words given, as they spell and sound the words on the tray. These words do not have to be in English, as the purpose of this activity is to help the children properly learn how to write and identify the letters of the words. Depending on the child’s nationality, their language can also be added. While doing the activity, the children will learn that some terms may be meaningful to others although it is not to them. This activity will allow the children to develop their cognitive skills, especially their literacy skills. It will allow the children to focus, investigate, explore and understand what writing really is. By interacting and engaging in other languages and terms relevant to themselves and to the outside world, the children are able to develop strong relationships with one another. Moreover, the experience they gain may extend their curiosity further on to other meaningful and significant words, as well as in activities of writing.

The resources needed for this activity are: salt, tray, food dye, construction paper, tape, index cards or flash cards and tools such as paint brush (optional).

Learning Plan 4

My fourth learning plan is based on the video, Evan August 2008 Tube. I created a science activity that builds on the children's interest and that allows the children to learn about friction, size, making predictions and ways to sort materials. The activity will have different sizes of different types of tubes, such as cardboard tubes, pipes, and planks with various textured materials to create frictions. They will be able to learn which textures slow down the materials or speed it up as it goes down the ramp and the tube. By experimenting with the different objects, the children will learn that different materials will experience different amounts of friction

The resources and materials needed for this activity are different sizes and different types of tubes, such as cardboard tubes, pipes, and planks with various textured materials to create frictions (hand towel, sandpaper, foil, or even a piece of rug). This activity would also need various types of toys and other objects in the classroom. The objects can be anything in different sizes such as toy cars, balls, marbles, blocks, triangles, socks, erasers, and etc. Anything that is in the classroom or even outside the classroom such as stones, leaves and branches can be used in the activity.
