Water & Oil Experiment
Materials: Baby Oil (unscented), Water, Food coloring, Pipettes, & Trays
The children learned that oil and water are substances that do not mix. They saw how the waters turned into bubbles and showed their surprised expressions. Through the play, they learned how to socialize with others and how to play in different ways. They did this by parallel playing. The children saw the actions of each other and followed one another. Some dropped some oil droplets in the colored water, some did the opposite. The children examined how these two were different and explored more onto the experiment.

Reflection: I think the activity was very successful despite it was the first activity. The children enjoyed it and showed a lot of interest in it. It was their first exploration of water and oil together which made them .very interesting in the activity. The parents and caregivers also showed interest in the activity themselves and enjoyed it. One of them said it was an activity that would have helped the children learn and discover something new.

Water &Oil Painting
Materials: Baby Oil (unscented), Water, Food coloring, Pipettes, Trays, & Thick papers
This activity was an extended version of the first activity, the oil and the water experiment. Like the first activity, the children learned what would happen if they mix oils and waters in papers and dry them. They learned the logic of oil and water and discovered how the colors would mix in certain parts of the papers. This activity provided the children to explore more on their inquiry and helped them say more creative and descriptive words of the activity. The children engaged with others by parallel play and through sharing their tools.

Reflection: The children and their parents and caregivers all enjoyed this activity. I thought this activity was a great hit because it was a type of art that the children were not able to easily do it at home. They were all showing interest in the activity. Moreover, some parents and caregivers took their child's artwork home and even framed it. The children shared their tools and colored waters with others and even waited for their turn to use the tools quietly. I was glad that I prepared an extented version out of the first activity.

Moon Sand
Materials: Flour, Baby Oil (unscented), Trays, & Tools
The children really enjoyed this activity. This activity allowed the children a chance to explore a new texture other than sand and play-dough. They got a chance to interact with an unfamiliar toy. The children learned through exploring the texture themselves and getting used to it. As soon as the children got used to the new sensory play, the children started playing pretend play with each other. One child made tea while the other made cupcake. They shared what they made with each other and pretended they were having a tea party. This activity allowed the children to explore a new sensory activity on their own and was a great success.

Reflection: I think this activity was very successful as well. The children and their caregivers really enjoyed it. The parents and caregivers gave the children a feeling that the moon sand was nothing harmful and was fun to play with. They were the ones who first approached and introduced the activity to their children. Moreover, a lot of the adults asked for the recipe of the moon sand so that they can try making it with their child.

Halloween Slime
Materials: Elmers Glue, Water, Baking Soda, Contacts solution, Plastic spoon, Containers, Felt (for decoration use), Glue gun, Googly eyes, & Halloween toys
The children loved the slime. Since it was a sensory toy that they were familiar with, the children came to the area and started playing with it right away. Moreover, the children who were unfamiliar with the slime saw those children and followed their actions. They explored different ways they could play with the slime. They brought their own toys such as animals and water beads to the area and mixing it with the slime.

Reflection: I really had a fun time with the children playing with the slime. The children showed an interest in this activity and were very lively throughout the day. They liked how the slimes were slimy and sticky at the same time. Not only did the children enjoy it, the parents and caregivers also had a fun time. They also wanted the recipes of the slime, to make it at home.

Music Expression
Material: Cardboard box, Colorful thick papers, Split pins, Woodrock board, Corrugated cardboard, & Glue
The children all showed interest in the toy I made for their circle time. The children learned how to express their emotions using this toy. They followed along with the song I sang using these toys and danced along with it. They even suggest what to do next to sing together. After the circle time was over, the children got these face toys and twirled the face parts around.

Reflection: Even though it was my first time leading the circle time, the children and parents all followed along with the song and danced to it together. It was a fun experience for me to learn how it is to be an educator.
